Thanks for offering me anew way to make it through this maze of emotions that upend me every day now. I will put that Kafka up in my new office! And check in with how I’m feeling to get at those deeply hidden words within! Thanks, Jan!
You made me think about this, Susan. Most of the time we just ignore out thoughts and reactions to them, which is fine when or they are neutral thoughts, but when some of those deeper ones dig in and we ignore them, they are like background noise. We feel but don’t acknowledge, and that continues to make us feel not so good or miss beautiful moments.. “Checking in ”suggests you step back and observe. Which is what Kafka is saying too. So thanks for your comment. It really helped me seem more clearly how sometimes our writing practice is a spiritual practice of really being present to what needs or wants to be said.
Whenever I would ask myself that question I would rack my brain like you trying to figure out how I was feeling. In the process of doing so, I wasn't able to feel what I was feeling in THIS moment. Thank you for giving that process a voice. And doing it so beautifully

The Kafka really helped me a lot during Short Leash.

A gem, Jan. Being lost and found in NY, on so many levels. Great hearing your voice on the page, again. Loved it.
Thanks Diana! xo
It's a great Zen question "How are you feeling?" Like saying, "Look, look!" Thank you for the beautiful photo and words, reminding us to be present.
I like thinking of it in that way. Looking at what’s being experienced.
